Pfizer La Jolla 2012 Chemistry Summer Internship Program
We are looking for motivated students who are interested in gaining experience in Organic or Computational chemistry. Students will be exposed to drug discovery in a pharmaceutical research setting for 12 weeks during the summer.
Eligibility Requirements: To participate in the 2012 Student Worker Program, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

REU Sensing and Signaling Research Experience for Undergrads May 28 - August 3, 2012
Program Information The aim of this program is to provide research experiences for undergraduate students majoring in the sciences with an introduction to cutting edge research in the broad area of “Sensing and Signaling”. The team of REU investigators represents a multidisciplinary ensemble of Cell Biologists, Geneticists, Biochemists, and Biophysicists who are taking modern approaches to the analysis of how signals are perceived and transduced in myriad biological systems. Application Information This opportunity is available to Sophomore and Junior undergraduate science majors with a preference given to Juniors. REU Fellowships will be awarded to qualified students on a competitive basis. Each Fellowship will include a $5,000 stipend as well as an allowance for cost of living, travel, and research supplies. Job Scope
We are seeking a Jr. Physicist/Engineer to support a number of

could include physics based mathematical modeling, programing,

or electrical hardware design. This person should have a physics or
engineering education, hands-on experience planning and conducting
tests, some experience developing simulation models, and experience
operating laboratory equipment. We are looking for recent graduates or
local students expecting to graduate with a science degree within two

Requirements
- US CITIZENSHIP and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Have or working towards a BS or MS degree in Engineering or Physics.
- Be a self-starter and motivated to learn new concepts and to take on new challenges.
- Be willing to travel to remote tests sites and have the ability to work extended days in the field.
- Have the ability to design and conduct experiments to measure
quantitative performance, maintain statistical validity, control
variables, maintain clear documentation, and produce defendable
conclusions.
- Have strong communication skills to clearly communicate ideas to
team members, management, and customers through stand-up presentations
and written reports.
- Have experience using some common scientific, mathematical, or
engineering software such as MATLAB, LABVIEW, Solid Works, ORCAD,
PSPICE, or programing languages such as C++ or experience in programing
DSP’s or FPGA’s.

Designed to bridge the gap between academic concepts and real-world
experience, LARSS creates opportunities for students to come to NASA
Langley Research Center (LaRC) in Virginia to conduct hands-on research
and engineering projects under the mentorship of NASA researchers,
scientists, and business professionals.
The LARSS Program is open to undergraduate and graduate students in
the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
as well as in business, communication, marketing, and other areas that
support NASA's mission. All majors accepted, and minority students are

The 2012 summer session is ten (10) weeks long and runs from June 4
