2017 Science Extravaganza

On May 5th, 2017 we invited 230 students to our campus for a day filled with science and

engineering workshops. We were able to have Jose Hernandez as our keynote speaker. We could tell

how inspired these middle school students were after seeing a Mexican-American retired astronaut

speak to them about his life and struggles. Our team of officers and volunteers made this day special for all the

students.

This day consisted of fun/educational workshops, a guest panel made up of industry professionals, inflatable Mars Rover, a speech from astronaut Jose Hernandez during lunchtime, 230 students, and over 50 volunteers. The aim of Science Extravaganza is to inspire the younger generation about the STEM field, and this year was a major success.
